You’ve decided to seek treatment for cocaine addiction, which may be the biggest decision of your life. Now, you have to decide where to go. And there are thousands of options.
First, let’s talk a bit about relapse. Almost as soon as someone decides they truly want to change, this fear creeps in. We’ve all heard the stories.
Here are two things to keep in mind: First of all, there is a vast difference in the quality of cocaine addiction treatment centers. Some help you through the hardest few weeks, then release you into the world. Others dig deeper and tackle the issues behind your addiction.
Secondly, while you should be prepared to give up cocaine and never look back, that doesn’t always happen for everyone. Some people may go to rehab and then relapse. But this does not mean they have wasted their time. You will be learning skills that you can continue to fine-tune and rely on throughout your life. We all face challenges. We are all works in progress.
Now, let’s get on to it. Your job is to find the best treatment center for your specific needs.
Rehab for Cocaine Addiction
At the Raleigh House, we believe there are three qualities that make us good at what we do— and possibly a good fit for you. They are:
1. Our treatment program is 90 days. That’s because we’ve found (and research verifies this) that this length of time works best for most people. Our staff of clinicians, including master’s level therapists, are trained to not only treat the addiction, but also to treat any co-occurring conditions, such as anxiety, bi-polar disorder or depression.
2. The quality of our staff. When you walk through our doors, our first priority will be to make sure you are safe and comfortable. Once that happens, you will be assigned a master’s level trained therapist. This person will be your guide. Together, you’ll set goals not only for rehab—but also for your time after rehab. Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. We’re going to find what works for you.
3. We feel like home. Look, we get it. Rehab isn’t really anyone’s idea of a get-away. That’s why we try to make the experience as comfortable as possible. We have hardwood floors, pleasant art and modern furnishings. You can sit on the back patio chatting with new friends. While here, you will also have access to a gym, swimming pool, yoga, boxing classes and indoor rock-climbing. Cocaine has wreaked havoc on your brain’s natural reward system. Exercise can help bring it back. We also have our own chef who makes meals that are not only delicious, but also geared toward the specific needs of those in recovery.
